Rockcliffe Landscaping Inc. is an award winning member of Landscape Ontario in business since 1983. Our goal is to provide premier landscape construction and garden maintenance along with courteous, reliable service of the highest quality. We provide year round service for both residential and commercial clients including home renovations in the winter months.
Our modern, fully equipped 10,000 sq. foot shop, is located in Canotek Business Park at the Montreal Rd. exit from the Queensway, with bus service to the front door. Our on- site Design Centre and Nursery features a 2000 sq. foot greenhouse, numerous display gardens and landscape features, as well as a full service Garden Centre. Our list of fully maintained in-house equipment is extensive, from over 40 small engines to riding tractors, Bobcat skid-steer and Kubota back-hoe.
People are the key to success in our business and we are looking for highly motivated, punctual, courteous staff. In summer we have a staff of 20 to 25, including 8 graduates and students of the Horticultural program at Algonquin, worked on a variety of projects including design, custom carpentry, natural stone and interlock, night lighting, extensive plant installation and complete high-end garden maintenance.
POSITIONS:
Landscape Gardener Installation:
- Will be involved in both hard and soft landscaping
- Can specialize in carpentry, masonry or plant installation
- Experience an asset but not a prerequisite
Landscape Gardener Maintenance:
- Responsible for complete property care: gardening, lawn maintenance, pruning, planting, clean-ups
- Garden bed rejuvenation
- Knowledge in plant identification an asset
Nursery Technician:
- Must have outgoing customer relation skills and competent plant identification knowledge
- Responsible for selling perennials, and garden ornaments using a computer sales system
- Must be efficient at potting, weeding, watering, and planting
As part of the Agricultural Industry exemptions to the Ontario Employment Standard Act, employees working in the positions mentionned above are required to work outside, in various weather conditions and to work 50 to 55 hours per week at regular pay.
Experience is an asset but not a prerequisite. Rockcliffe Landscaping is moving towards a knowledge first approach. Hence we are looking for applicants to be interested in ongoing training and education as part of their employment with us. Co-op and Apprentice sponsorships available.
